About

I started this blog back in 2011 when I first decided to learn Japanese. I had a private tutor at home for around a year until she had to move to China. I started this blog when she was still around, but stopped when she left because I felt it was useless to continue on.

After she had left, I couldn't find another tutor and although I had heard of many people learning on their own, I didn't feel I could, so I just gave up on Japanese all together.

Years later in 2019, and after my sister Rasha decided to learn Japanese, I thought I should too. So now I teach her what I had been taught (Beginners I) and then we'll arrange to have private lessons in Berlitz for Beginners II and so on.

Changes have been made in the blog's overall look and style. If you had visited years ago you would have noticed that it used to be all Kawaii and junk, but now it has a classic feel.

Although I still like Kawaii, I wanted this blog to be an extension to my original blog; mintybint, which is mostly classic 1900s-1960s style.

I used to also post my own illustrations using photoimpact, but no longer like the style for the above reason, so from now on you will find I sketch my illustrations using only pencil and paper because it feels more mid-century and looks better to me.

OH! I almost forgot hehe, the blog's name used to be Nurasan No Nihongo ぬーらさんの にほんご but it has been changed now to Noora Sensei ヌーラ先生 because it sounds better.
