Family

Today we'll learn what to call family members:

Family in Japanese is Kazoku (かぞく) and what you would call your own family members differs from what you would call another person's family members, so I'll try to explain it as clear and easy as possible, through my posters.

First we have the male (Otoko no hito -  おとこ の ひと) family members of each groups:

and here we have the female (Onna no hito - おんな の ひと) family members:

As for other members - for both groups - it is the same:

Your children are Kodomo (こども), but someone else's children are Okosan (おこさん).

My Advice:
Just try to memorise what to call your own family for now, until completely retained, then move on to the rest. Also, visit About for the sounds and Kanji of these words.
